Rep. Stephanie Barnard advocates for HB 1955, stresses need for clean energy reporting revision

In her proposed legislation, House Bill 1955, Rep. Stephanie Barnard aims to eliminate duplicate utility requirements outlined in the Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA). CETA requires utilities to divulge the greenhouse gas emissions linked to the electricity they provide to consumers.

During recent deliberations on the House floor, Barnard argued that the Climate Commitment Act (CCA) already encompasses a comparable obligation, adequately meeting the public’s demand for information regarding greenhouse gas emissions from electric utilities.
