During debate on a critically important drug possession bill, Rep. Stephanie Barnard shares remarks

Rep. Stephanie Barnard, R-Pasco, shares remarks during debate on the “Blake fix” bill, Senate Bill 5536. The measure sought to address the 2021 Supreme Court’s State v Blake ruling effectively decriminalized the possession of hard drugs like heroin, methamphetamines, and others.

After relating a story about her niece, who died of a fentanyl overdose, Barnard called for a bill that not only has compassionate rehabilitation services but also accountability for those accessing illegal substances.
