Pasco student serves as page in the Washington State House of Representatives

Amelia Fisk, a student at Kingspoint, recently traveled to Olympia to serve as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives. Rep. Stephanie Barnard sponsored her visit during the first week of the 2026 legislative session.

“Amelia was a wonderful addition to our team at the Capitol,” said Barnard, R-Pasco. “She demonstrated a great attitude and a sincere desire to learn about state government. It was rewarding to see her represent Pasco and engage with the legislative process.”

During her time at the Capitol, Amelia participated in various page duties, such as delivering messages and documents to legislators, navigating the Capitol campus, and assisting on the House floor. She also attended page school daily to learn more about how laws are made.

“The page program is an excellent opportunity for students to see the inner workings of the Legislature,” added Barnard. “Amelia handled her responsibilities with maturity, and I am proud of the work she accomplished here.”

Outside of her legislative duties, Amelia enjoys quilting, sewing, and playing tennis.

Each year, students from across Washington apply to participate in the legislative page program. Pages earn $65 per day and receive valuable civics education through hands-on experiences, including attendance in page school and working alongside House members and staff.

“I am grateful Amelia took the time to join us in Olympia,” noted Barnard. “I look forward to seeing her continue to grow as a leader in our community.”
