Fighting for veterans, jobs and affordability: 8th District update with Rep. Stephanie Barnard
Now that several session deadlines have passed, the focus in Olympia has shifted to the state’s three budgets: operating, transportation, and capital. In this update, Rep. Stephanie Barnard, R-Pasco, shares her concerns about more than $24 billion in proposed new taxes from House and Senate Democrats—taxes that would raise the cost of living, hurt small businesses, and make housing less affordable.
She also shares updates on four bills she sponsored that are advancing in the Senate:
House Bill 1106 – expanding tax relief for veterans
House Bill 1819 – streamlining upgrades to power lines
House Bill 1210 – boosting Tri-Cities economic development
House Bill 1824 – cutting red tape for accredited birthing centers
Barnard encourages community members to get involved in the legislative process by supporting these bills and pushing back against harmful tax increases.
